Afternoon walkies

Jim had spotted the next giant cloud bringing yet another hail storm, but thought he could get his boots & coat etc. on dog coats on and get out and back before it arrived - of course he didn't.
 Getting too close for comfort
For those who wonder why we put coats on them - here they are hiding under a hedge during the hail storm - they really are a couple of  softies !  The wind gusted a 71.5mph during this hail storm.

  1. Don't blame them! Glad to see that Tilly is better, she was poorly when we saw you in November. Jane .

  2. Hi Jane, Tilly has finished her antibiotics and seems to be OK, we are giving her several herb treatments to try to help her stomach & digestion as she is showing the same signs as our previous bitch who had a bleeding ulcer and nearly died. Tilly seems quite happy - just hungry all the time at them moment now she's feeling better ! Really terrible day here, house has been shaking in the wind at times. Sue

    1. Wooster's nice coat is really muddy - no idea how they can go on the same walk and Tilly is nice and clean and Wooster is filthy - obviously dogs are much the same as children ! !
Wind seems to have calmed down now - might even get some sleep tonight !

  4. Hi Sue, Thanks for braving the weather to post the calendar. I can't wait!
Wonderful shots of those wild waves rolling in.
I've been having so much trouble with internet and sometimes I write a comment, but it doesn't come up on the page. It's been okay some of the time. Family have been away or taking it easy over the holiday break, but I will see if they can look at it again soon.
    Keep warm,
    Betty

    1. Hi Betty, Really really wild here all day. Calming down a bit now and for tomorrow - then more Sunday/Monday.
Know just how frustrating it is when you have internet problems ours was very weak again today - looks like it's a weather thing and they're supposed to be fixing it ! Do hope the calendar gets there safely - probably about a week. Sue

    1. Wooster & Tilly are comical really - since they are supposed to be Grouse Moor hunting dogs - they wouldn't be much good if it rained up there !
They could certainly do with something to hold their ears down !
The weather for Sunday/Monday isn't looking good, but I don't think it will be as bad as yesterday - although the swell forecast is not looking good for the paople who have already suffered and we still have high tides.
I gather there has been some damage to the Quay over on Scilly. Gry is ready to sail on Monday - if the weather isn't too bad.

  6. Poor loves, as T and W's faces show what they think of hail. I have hunkered down in the cottage as my husband is already back in San Diego. I'm hoping that the repair man will come to fix the leakingbath/kitchen extension flat roof before I leave, but the weather seems to have decided otherwise.

    1. Oh dear, pity about the leaking roof - been there, done that !
Not great weather for you and your guests, such a pity after all the planning.
Do hope you manage to get the roof repaired before you leave - for peace of mind !
