PERRANUTHNOE is a small village on the South Coast of Cornwall, just East of Marazion, there is a Car Park and sloping access to a safe sandy beach and the beachside Cabin Cafe. It has The Victoria Inn a superb multi award winning pub, which serves super food both lunchtimes & evenings, - a Church dating back as far as 1160. The Lynfield Centre which houses The Cowhouse Gallery, The Peppercorn Cafe and a hairdressers.

As I turned at Maen-du Point to walk in towards the car park I was rather shocked by the sight before me - Not a lot of beach left, after the storms.

Strewth ! it's a long walk across the rocks & stones and water to get to the sand now - It's going to take a long time to build up the height of sand we had before
We've haven't seen it quite this stoney and rocky before - wonder where all the sand went !

    Does the beach profile change every winter? Hopefully the sand that has been dragged out will return during the year.

      Yes Lynn, it often gets washed out, but takes a while to come back - need some calm weather for that !
      When I opened the curtains I could see more brown water out there - hope that's not more sand heading out !
      Remember when we had the cottage and I came down to decorate and open up for the season, Carbis Bay near St Ives had lots so much I had to slither down a 4/5ft bank to get down closer to the sea - got back in June and it was back to the lovely level beach again.

    The beach looks like it has been dragged through a hedge backwards. How sad. I wonder how long it will take to get some sand back? I hope the four footed friends will not have too much difficulty getting over the rocks to the sand that's left.

      I think it will be me that would struggle over that lot Gaynor - we've not been going down there as they seem to have forgotten that a) don't drink the seawater and b) raw seaweed makes you ill - it's fine if it's the dried stalks you find on Scilly. Hope the weather calms down and the sand starts to return !
