Very tame Robin by the footway
Lots of tame Turnstones too
Wandering along by the path
I know that this is one of the Loons (such a lovely name)
But I've no idea which one
St Ives Harbour, looking much the same as usual

  1. Good morning Sue,
happy new year and once again a big "Thank You" for all these wonderful photos you take and show to all those interested.
Have a look at the RSPB page and enter the name "Arctic Loon" or "Black Throated Diver". I think this is the right one. Quite rare as you see, only about 500 to 600 birds wintering in UK.

    Greetings from Bochum

    1. Afternoon Gerd, Happy New Yra to you and your family,
I'm sure you're right - that was the one I thought it was - looking at the bird reports of the area there are quite a number around, but that one was right in front of us ans much closer than you'd usually see them - possibly a Juvenile.
We really enjoyed yesterdays walk in the sunshine. Sadly today is wet and windy and the rest of the week isn't looking good. At least we have no flooding down here - the Thames Valley and Somerset Levels are really looking bad and more rain is not what they need ! Best wishes Sue
