St Ives Lugger Barnabus arriving - with pirates on board !
Never managed to get the name of this smaller lugger - seen it quite a few times
Great fun on board this boat - the guy walked the plank - unfortunately I think they hadn't realised that since we were all having to stand behind a fence, we were too far from the edge to see properly or get photographs
Meanwhile the light was really changing around The Mount
Have to love those luggers with the rusty red sails. I have a small watercolour of one on my mantle. I bought it off Ebay and when it arrived, I was surprised to see it was by a man called Beer from Falmouth. From the 60s, I still remember his family's art supplies shop on the main street in Falmouth, just around the corner from the parish church heading towards Trago. As for Jim's lunch, I can only imagine the crab sandwich. The crab here in SD is nowhere near as sweet and tasty.
ReplyDeleteWe love to see the luggers as you know - would have been good to see more boats out there. What a coincidence you managed to buy a picture by someone so local to you !
DeleteJim really enjoyed his lunch - he doesn't like his crab messed around with mayonaise etc. As you can see the mayonaise was in a little dish separately which of course he didn't use !
Wonderful pictures ! No messing with crab in this house either ! Why spoil perfection ! I can't eat it these days developed an allergy ...but I had my share over the years ! I do still 'dress ' them for the family...what a martyr ! Awful rain today flooded roads went out but had to turn back very murky too.You look as though you have had a super day. Thanks Sue macca p.s wooster needed his wellies !
ReplyDeleteSaw on the news that you'd had the rain today - looked really bad.
DeleteWe did have a wonderful day - such a pity it wasn't yesterday !
I don't eat Crab - nor any shellfish - just doesn't appeal at all - although I love fish - Jim loves his Crab and Lobster.
Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Sue
