Just managed to get a couple of shots and thought we'd seen them before - they were USAF F15 Eagles -(Mugger 41 flight) Think that they are usually based at USAF Lakenheath
They were certainly making a lot of noise chasing each other around the bay
Whilst I was standing there I noticed that this Palm Tree has lovely white flowers whereas the others have pinkish ones
Happy holiday in Scilly, say Hi to the Islands for us please. Great photo's, we have those aircraft up here as well, they appear from nowhere, and make such a roar.Thankyou
ReplyDeleteI gather they were asking for permission to fly lower - 2,000ft but were refused - probably because of the helicopter exercises going on.
DeleteGetting a bit worried about holidays - not nearly ready enough ! As long as the laptop works I'll post a couple of shots each day - as long as the weather isn't too bad - don't want to wreck another camera ! Sue
We have the US Marines close by so are treated to daily takeoffs and roaring close by. Quite worrying as two military planes crashed on the same day here - one was a Harrier which landed on three houses and destroyed them, but luckily no-one was home and the pilot ejected, so mercifully no deaths. The other was an F-16 attempting to land on a carrier. I am always on edge when the fly over the house as they did crash into a house across the canyon and killed four members of the family. Pilot ejected then too.
