Thursday - The last day !

Took this on Wednesday night at around 10.30pm - loved the colours and Round Island Light
Gry Maritiha setting off back to Penzance this morning as we leave The  Star Castle and walk down towards Hugh Town
Porthmellon looking tropical
as was Porthloo
After a quick coffee at Juliets Garden we carried on walking towards Bants Carn - and there she was looking very full of what turned out to be mostly day trippers
It's been a few years since we've seen her arriving this full on a weekday - the good weather encouraging the day trips
One last one of this view as we sat and ate our Ice Creams - trying to finish before they melted in the hot sun - for those who have visited the Isles you must have done this as well !
After one last walkies up towards The Garrison for the dog's benefit we boarded SCIII and as we came out of the harbour I could see some of the work they have been doing on the main wall - I gather it's to try to deflect any future storm waves from over-topping the Quay (hope this is right !)
The saddest photograph I take each year as The Isles of Scilly get smaller and smaller - it was rather cold and windy outside, so I didn't hang around !
Super view of Wolf Rock Lighthouse as we passed a little closer than usual - although we left 10 minutes early we arrived 5 minutes late, so we realised that she had been travelling a little slower than normal - no idea why she did this as it wasn't rough - possibly a fuel saving tactic - or just a headwind !
So, we're back home and I have to start sorting out and editing all the photos and post them on this years Isles of Scilly Holiday blog !

    1. So very pleased that you enjoyed them - we did have a super if exhausting holiday - walking in the hot sun was a little tiring, but we all enjoyed it - and the food and company was great as well. Met a few more blog readers that recognised Wooster & Tilly - probably not Jim as he now has a hat - yes it was that hot ! Never thought I'd see the day ! Really packed boat in both directions - Steamship Company must be really raking it in !
Sister and her husband is here at the moment as they have been enjoying Perranuthnoe whilst we have been away - so will start on the IOS photos on Monday - after the dentist has replaced the filling I lost over there !

I was thinking of both you and Kathy who are not able to get to Scilly as you would wish - Sad to leave, but we need the rest lol ! All that walking in the hot sun saps your energy ! Trying to get used to cooking for ourselves again - Jim is the hero tonight - cooking some lovely Cod ! Washing machine is exhausted and taking a rest until tomorrow ! Sue

  3. The views really do look tropical, and everywhere seems quite uncrowded. How nice to meet your blog readers too. It seems as if a lot of people really enjoy your photos of Perranuthnoe and environs. I know I do. Still one week today we will be heading to Cornwall after a very round about route to getting there.
