We walked back up the steep hill to the upper car park and looked down at the beach
Looks like the lunchtime rush is over down at the Watering Hole
The tide was coming in fast - you have to watch that you don't get caught out by it

The waves looking very different now
We then had a couple of delicious Crepes from this little cafe before heading for home

  1. The beach at Perranporth is lovely, but the town - not so much. My first holiday in Cornwall was in a caravan above Perran Sands when I was five, and I loved the beach to dig and make sandcastles, a pretend car etc. When my daughter was ten we went there for her to ride on the beach for her birthday; the first and only time she has ridden a horse on the beach and she said it was lovely to canter in and out of the surf.
As for the picture at Hell's Mouth, I am also speechless as that is a very crumbly overhang. Some people really are stupid - that is almost like using a swear word in America, I'll have you know. In all the times I have been there I have never seen anyone do something which could obviously put their lives in danger like that, not to mention others too who might have to rescue them. San Diego has some tall cliffs which are very similar and people often climb up or down and get stuck halfway, Now they get charged for a cliff rescue as stairs were added at one point to make the beach accessible.

    1. I agree about Perranporth - we used to go in the Winter when we lived in Tresillian - just a 15 minute drive from there. We like the fact it's so huge that the dogs can all have fun and not bother anybody !
As for the couple on the cliff - well ! - what can you say - I couldn't see how they had got down there as I didn't want to go any closer to the edge. As I stood there a cyclist was cycling along the top as well - bonkers !
