Looking over The Ennys (The Island) and Cudden Point, with Newlyn in the background
Porth en Alls House with The Lodge behind - we stayed in the bottom flat of Porth en Alls for several holidays
The people that we had seen on the beach were leaving by scrambling and climbing up the crumbling rocks - It's much safer to scramble over the rocks to the next cove.

  1. That is somewhere where I have never been, so was very interested to go along on your walk. I have been to Praa Sands by car, and never stayed as it is really bungalow-land. Porth an Alls House looks quite old - a bit like Bosloe where we stay at Christmas when the numbers are too big for the cottage. That is Edwardian, I think. I didn't realize how much of the coast was hit by the winter storms and how unstable some of those cliffs look.

    1. There doesn't seem to be any published history of Porth en Alls House - don't know if they've improved it, but it was very basic inside - but a wonderful place to stay - The Garden flat had a walled garden and steps up to a high patio with a view out to sea - much like we've built at home, Our then Pointer Wooster used to put his feet on the wall - just like Wooster does.
Again lie Perranporth, Praa Sands goes for the beach holiday people and I gather properties get very good rental during the holidays - but pretty it's not !
I think that the line of sandy cliffs runs right along Mount's Bay - with some rocky headlands jutting out into the sea - the soft sandy cliffs really couldn't take the battering. - Hope we don't get another storms Winter for a while ! Sue
