Afternoon walkies - what a surprise !

Still rather grey as we set off
A Grey Heron- not some thing we see that often
As we walked up the hill towards Trebarvah the colour began to change
and we realised that the sun was probably going to come down out of the cloud
 It got brighter and brighter
and suddenly burst out from just below the cloud
Quite amazing to see the numbers of Spiders webs we must walk straight through every day
Wooster and Tilly had a lovely run with Toby
and we watched as it all went a bit pink - such a pity that Google blogger is adjusting this photo - should look much better than this
It started to sink behind the hills
and it all got pinker and we just stood in amazement
It's this kind of  Winter sunset that makes all the rain and mud worthwhile

The sun was gone, but the sky just got better

 Just wonderful
Wooster wondering why we are just standing still !  All I did to these photos was straightern the horizon and crop a little - no adjustment of the colour at all
Then the pink started to fade - but it was still rather nice !

  1. Hi Sue, amazing photos of the sunset. I looked at the Lands End weather homepage earlier and noticed how unusual it looked. Like you say, Winter does provide some nice surprises sometimes. Lovely to see the dogs having fun too. Jane .

    1. Hi Jane, Really was so odd - after grey cloud all day to suddenly see it all change. So pleased that we walked in the right direction to get some nice shots. Bet there's some good ones from Scilly. Sue

  2. Beautiful as ever. Can we ask a question? In the photo captioned and we realised it was going to drop out of the cloud. Is it a boat or a fin, in the water? Just curious! David and Susan.

    1. Think that the lower one is a rock at Maen-dhu Point and the rest of the black specks were gulls heading out to sea for the night. Such a super late afternoon. Sue

  3. Hi Sue, Just love your blog as it brings back happy childhood memories. My Dad was a teacher & we used to come to Perranuthnoe every summer for a month, and this went on until I went to grammar school. We stayed in a white house opposite the Victoria, which had been divided up into flats. I believe the downstairs was once a shop and I have seen a photo of the building being the original village post office. Could you take a photo for me? I remember the shop down by the beach as being a real Aladdin's cave and the buckets and spades they used to sell were to die for! I remember the shop was run by Mrs Carruthers then. I also remember the Luxtons, the Laitys and lots of very happy times. Nowhere else will ever compare. Kindest Regards, Debby

    1. Pleased that you found the blog and enjoy the photos.
Will take a photo for you next time we pass by -We still have Laity's in the village with Joe's grandson Jonathan and his wife who have 2 new additions to the Laity clan. There have been lots of changes even in our 9 years here - the Cliff House you see in some photos right above the beach is in fact a new one built a few years ago to replace the old one which had many problems. Sue
