Went down to check on what is happening about the toilets and Car Park yesterday
The Car Park will not be manned again until 1st April 2015. This notice has been put up - I leave it up to you and your conscience !  The toilets will remain open during daylight hours and are being maintained by The Cabin Cafe/Peppercorn Kitchen Cafe/and others - many thanks to them !

  1. No problem, we will pay our fee for parking, so pleased to hear the toilets are staying open. But we will miss the lovely lady at the car park who normally greets us with a lovely smile Well done to owners and staff of the businesses in Peranuthnoe for keeping them cleaned. So often you go somewhere now and all the Public toilets are closed. Not good for our visitors outside the County who come and visit our beautiful seaside and country villages.

    1. Yes it's good that they managed to come to an agreement to keep the toilets open - they were going to be open only at weekends, but The Cabin has a problem as they are below the level of the sewage system and have a pump toilet which is easy to break. With Perran being on the long distance coastal path - they are vital to my mind.
I think that the people who live fairly locally resent having to pay when they haven't had to in the Winter in the past - and parking in Marazion is Free all Winter.

  2. Yes, we would probably resent paying as well if we were local, I hadn't realised that parking in Marazion is free, we usually park in the car park on the left coming in from the roundabout as that park money is for charity, or that is what we have been led to believe. Toilets are closing everwhere it seems, even the ones in our town are closed. Sign of the times we are told.;-((

    1. The Car Park you mention is a charity one - I think a different charity each year. The other Car Parks in Marazion are owned by St Aubyns, so they can do what they like. Don't know if any of the toilets there are staying open during the Winter. How sad it is that it comes to making people find shops and cafes with toilets - really bad for us oldies and people with children !
