Thursday

First thing this morning - I took the dogs down into the garden and when I got back upstairs the sun had found a little hole in the bank of cloud out to the East and was bathing the village in a warm glow
But when I took the dogs out it was totally grey as I walked over the hill to Trenow
Merlin helicopter from RNAS Culdrose was flying around
As I walked along the coastal footpath the cloud started to part and some blue sky appeared
 Boat Cove
As I approached Maen-dhu Point it started to brighten up a bit
As the sunlight hit the water the colours were beautiful - sand in the water I suppose
Really dramatic and the sun made the black cloud look even darker

The sand and the stones have been moving around again
Not a bad beach today !
 Sea King
Lovely view of the granite buildings that make up Churchtown
As we were putting our boots on this afternoon to take the dogs out, we noticed that the sun was about to disappear, so I took this through the window
Layers of cloud as we walked up toward Ednovean
Lovely little moon today

  1. Beautiful pictures, Sue, especially of that golden glow on the village. Thanksgiving day here but no family home for it, so we went for a walk on the beach and are cooking king crab legs, and not turkey tonight. It is so hot -90 deg F - my phone said, that my scalp burned and we bailed on eating a picnic at the beach and came home.

    1. Sorry, but we're really envious of your heat - I know that we complained in the Summer, but it's really rather chilly here at the moment - Easterly wind is always nasty. Fleecy hat time here, so no burned heads !
Jim says the King crab legs sound nice ! Happy Holiday to you. Sue

  2. Wonderful photos! Loved to see activities in Mousehole, the one weekend we couldn't get down, spectacular sunsets, though did hear on Radio 4 a chap had to be rescued with his board in Marazion whilst watching same! Viewed that lovelly Moon enroute to Cornwall last night, can't wait to get onto the Coastpath this morning! Thanks again Kathy P

  3. The sunsets were quite stunning to stand and watch - Joe - the young man that was rescued was indeed very lucky, the guys out on the lifeboats said it was pitch black out there, but they followed their search patterns and felt they were lucky to find him. He just wanted to paddle out under that amazing cloud, then drifted too far out - his wetsuit was what kept him warm enough to survive. Well done to all the volunteers ! Enjoy your walkies on the footpaths - they've dried out a little in the last few days ! Sue
