The Christmas Tree

Today was the day for putting up the Christmas Tree and lights - nice number of volunteers this year - first secure your tree !
Then wind the lights around it
and the figures for the Nativity Scene were carefully unwrapped and placed in "The Stable"
These were all made by local children a few years ago
I apologise to any sensitive souls who might be keen on "elf and safety" but it hasn't arrived in Perranuthnoe yet - The Victoria  being decoarated.  Sadly Anna & Stewart will not be mine hosts of The Victoria by  next Fridays Christmas Tree lighting as they will be handing over to a new Landlord  during this week.  They have decided to concentrate on their other restaurant, The Square in Porthleven, we wish them well and must go and try it soon.

  1. I would be interested to hear what you think of the new people and the meals there as they always were fantastic. Andy is trying to convince me to come down between xmas and for the new year. Not sure yet.

    1. The new owner is a chef who had a restaurant in Truro, then went to London to work on corporate dining - I gather his partner is in London.
He is from Porthleven - so once again "local" The staff are mainly staying on, so hopefully things will not change too much. Will of course do some necessary "research" Still very cold here today and Christmas is looking like it might be as well - if you believe the long range forecasts ! Sue

    1. Gather the hand-over at The Victoria will now be later this week - busy time to take over a business like that !
Just checked the forecast for Friday - possible light rain shower, so not too bad. Must go up into the loft and get the decorations down and make a start. Sue
