Around 2.15pm and I took this when I'd finished up at Oamaru - you can see the dark clouds arriving and the wind had really started to get much worse
Although the sea was not anything like as angry as it was later in the afternoon . Sadly the rain arrived quite early and Tilly had developed a limp, so there was no dog walk.
This evening so far the wind is gusting just short of 60mph and the roof tiles are clumping around a bit and rain is smashing onto the windows. The forecast is for it to get worse from now until midnight.  Not a night to go outside - although Nick had to as he's working - nasty.

  1. Oh no! I'd better get a neighbour to check the cottage roof. Hopefully Tilly's limp gets better so more dog walks are in the offing. They were both running full tilt down that path. They look very speedy! I think you told me once before that they never disappear, but wait for you.
Churchtown colours look wonderful in the picture. I just love that warm stone.
BTW, nothing to do with Perranuthnoe, but I am very excited so have to share. Our first grandchild arrived on Sunday and is home from the hospital this afternoon - Madeline Rose Wednesday Newman. Don't ask about the Wednesday bit as I don't understand the explanation, haha. Actually she is very pretty for a newborn and seems to have a serene temperament which makes it easy on the two new parents.

    1. Congratulations on your promotion to grand parent ! Love the names - well like you I think that Wednesday is just going to cause trouble every time she has to fill in forms etc in the future lol Do hope she remains a serene baby, so much easier to cope with !
The storm came in from the SW and then went slightly Westerly, so Mawnan was probably a bit sheltered. I haven't been outside to check if the roof tiles have gone back down into their correct positions - they were certainly lifting a lot.
Tilly's limp seems a lot better this morning - she's a bit silly really as an "old un" she ought not to be racing Wooster as she does - especially when she goes down stairs to the garden - always wants to be first ! They don't get as far away from us as previous Pointers have done - probably due to where they live.
Lots of really heavy showers this morning - it's going to be tricky to find time between two to get out and back with the dogs ! Sue
