As the cloud approached the wind got much worse very quickly
At the top of the hill the conditions were really pretty grim, the wind almost pushing me over as I tried to take photos
The new build at Coastview had not suffered any damage overnight - pretty sheltered down there

The wind had gone back up to 64mph whilst we were out - no qonder we were struggling !
The hail arrived after we arrived home - thank goodness

ReplyDeleteBecause the wind was from the West, we hadn't realised that it had got up quite as much and it's hard to describe what it's like to try to walk up a steep hill on a slippery path with those gusts of wind almost knocking you over. Lots more showers today, but the wind had dropped right down.
DeleteRather a typical Cornish problem on the A30 between Scorrier & Redruth - a hole has opened up by the side of the dual carriageway - they assume it's an old mine-shaft, so huge tailbacks yesterday until they opened up the outside lane, now they're all being very "Cornish" and standing looking down the hole and wondering what to do - assume they'll try to put a camera down to see how far it extends. then fill it up !
