A little more cloud as the moon took it's first "bite"
Nice clear one - couldn't really see what I was taking - just looking at the screen and firing the shutterAs the cloud got thinner the camer suffered from the brightness
Had to resort to taking through the lens of the eclipse glasses - hence the colour !
Went back into the warm !
It might not have got much darker here, but, boy it got cooler !
Looks like lots of people had gone out to Maen-dhu Point to watch the event
Amazing pictures ...thankyou Sue...not much to see here ! nice to see Newlyn this morning on T.V. love that walk from Penzance....always meet lots of friendly dogs....and owners ! macca
ReplyDeleteWish we'd known that BBC were in Newlyn we'd have changed chanels - we just happened to have Sky News on from near Newquay.
DeleteWe really enjoyed seeing it and am pleased you enjoyed the photos
Cornwall Council did a super job of re-building Newlyn Green after the storms. Sue
FANTASTIC eclipse photo's, Thank you. We had a brilliant view here also, a very eerie feeling when it went darker, poor birds made such a noise then complete silence. By the look of it we had a clearer view in Cornwall than other parts of the Country. Looking forward to the next partial eclipse now in 2026. Apparently this haze we are having is not helping people with Asthma and other chest ailments, hopefully when the warmer weather comes Jim will feel much better.
ReplyDeleteWe really were lucky weren't we, we really noticed how cold it got as more and more of the sun was covered.
DeleteHopefully the haze will clear in the next day or two - Jim has been told to use both the preventer and the Ventolin which he usually used around once a year if at all. Really hope he improves as it spoils the walkies for him. Sue
Good morning Sue,
ReplyDeletethank you for the wonderful pictures of the eclipse, here in Bochum the sky was totally cloudy, nothing to see. See you soon.
Gerd
Morning Gerd, Pity you didn't get to see the eclipse "live" Pleased that you liked the photos - we were so lucky with the weather yesterday - after thinking it was going to be too cloudy.
DeleteWoke up this morning to the wonderful view of a crystal clear Mount's Bay - can see Mousehole really well. Still rather cold in the Northerly wind - might go down to have a walk on the huge beach later today.
See you soon. Sue
