Easter Monday

Border Agency Patrol vessel leaving Penzance and heading East
We drove to the car parking area to the East of Porthleven to get a good view of RFA Argus as we guessed the Merlin Helicopters would be active today
Sure enough as we arrived one was just landing
 Looking back towards Porthleven
Lots of people around - these were on the original lower footpath
One Merlin off to RNAS Culdrose
 One onto the deck
Looking down to the coastal footpath and along the coast of The Lizard

Looking past Porthleven to the old Trewavas Mine engine houses & chimneys
Porth-en-Alls House and the other properties of Prussia Cove
Think there's quite a lot of sand missing here
Some early Sea Thrift right on the coast
Still quite a few fields of Daffodils around
Lots of these super yellow Hottentot  Figs
 Loe Bar
We now walked into the Penrose Estate on this footpath that runs alongside Loe Pool
Nice 14 month old Dalmation that wanted to play ! - Tilly wasn't sure
I suddenly spotted this little Bat flitting around some trees - took many photos, but only managed the one shot
We heard the three Merlins from Argus flying togather when we were under cover of trees, then they flew around in formation several times, so we managed this shot
The gardens at Penrose House looking really beautiful
The cafe in The Stables was actually much busier than it appears - spot the Pointer and you can just about see me in purple jacket !

  1. My goodness! The flowers and gardens are wonderful and it made me so nostalgic looking at the Penrose estate and Porthleven. Still I will be there in around 31 days, so maybe I can coax my husband out for a walk - especially with a visit to the Stable cafe.

    1. It all came good - just at the right time !
It was the first long walk we've done since Christmas due to weather and being poorly !
The dogs really enjoyed it and these new paths all around the top of Penrose really make it a super walk as the views are so special. Have just sent you a message on your facebook page - sadly the planning refusal for the new houses in Mawnan has been overturned - link to article
