PERRANUTHNOE is a small village on the South Coast of Cornwall, just East of Marazion, there is a Car Park and sloping access to a safe sandy beach and the beachside Cabin Cafe. It has The Victoria Inn a superb multi award winning pub, which serves super food both lunchtimes & evenings, - a Church dating back as far as 1160. The Lynfield Centre which houses The Cowhouse Gallery, The Peppercorn Cafe and a hairdressers.

Sunday

 Not a good start to the day - rain and mist !
 Usual morning walkies, but without the view !

Penzance - Quay Day
 The cloud was gradually opening up as we arrived in Penzance
 Scillonian III on her last rest day of the season as she's changing to 7 day sailings from next weekend
 Penzumba  - As I was working up at Oamaru in Trebarvah yesterday I could hear their Mazey Day drumming - all the way from Penzance !
 Lots of talented musicians alongside the footway
 Not sure what this instrument is, but the tune was pretty - she was winding the handle and pressing keys along the front - it was evidently a Hurdy Gurdy !

 Ah ! the old uns are the best !
 We walked all the way along to Newlyn Green where there was a fundraising event for the RNLI
 As I drove into Newlyn the other day I spotted this super "wildflower meadow"  that has been seeded alongside the road into Newlyn
 Tom was entertaining visitors (including a cat) as he kept his watch over the harbour
 Billy Rowney heading in through the gaps
Nice little radio controlled sailing ship on the boatling lake
 As well as lots of superb model lifeboats - some of which were put in the water later I gather
 The ill fated Solomon Browne
 Barnabus making her way over to Newlyn
 Lovely, sweet little girl - by special request from Wooster as she was his favourite little lady !
 After we got home I spotted another old beauty - Pilgrim of Brixham  heading for Penzance
 Afternoon walkies and we walked up to Trebarvah - under a Mackerel Sky - again !
 Moving quickly towards us

 Young cattle in the next field
and behind electric fencing and a gate - just where they belong if you ask me !
 The light was changing all the time
 Super view over a flowering potato field towards Acton Castle
 Don't recall seeing flowers this dark pink before
 This Barly field has grown amazingly quickly and the green was really bright
 More potatoes on one of the sloping fields at Trevean
 The sun had gone and it was suddenly a bit chilly, so we turned for home
Back to Trebarvah and down the hill to home

    Thanks again Sue for posting superb pics of a wonderful weekend in Penzance! I was in Causewayhead on Saturday, the primeval drumming is still ringing in my ears! Told my family I was having my own mini Glastonbury! Lovely atmosphere, now I can show them your pics to prove it! Sadly had to leave Sunday, major hold ups on 'road improvements' before Bodmin, must've been awful on Saturday! Potato flowers are exquisite, worthy of a vase, less fattening!

      Hi Kathy - sadly we decided that since we hadn't been to Oamaru since before holidays we ought to go up there and make sure it was OK and for Jim to mow and me to strim to get it looking neat again. Would have liked to be there on Saturday, but you need to be at least 6ft tall to get decent photos - I always get pushed out of the way often comically by people pushing children forward - who are taller than me lol.
      Heard from our neighbours at Trebarvah that the "improvement" works near Bodmin are causing holdups - even at quiet times - they just have to do it in the Summer ! Sue

    Thanks Sue.enjoyed seeing the fireworks and quay day from a distance ! two years ago I was rather poorly and the smell of food was everywhere ! It's a lovely festival and have really enjoyed it all in the past especially the parades. Wooster has very good taste ! what a sweetie ! Lovely view of the castle, beautiful colour flowers on the potatoes are white very commonal garden ! mind you we have a very good crop! macca

      We enjoyed our day and it's good for especially Wooster to go out inot crowds etc as he lives his life in such a quiet area - but you never know what you might need him to do in the future. I think that the potato shot might go into the 2016 calendar file for consideration ! Sue
