First sighting of Loe Pool below us
We were hoping for more sunshine, but it was rather cloudy when we arrived at the car park.
Rather hazy view of the coastline of The Lizard
Wooster checking over the wall - as always !
LookingWest towards Rinsey Head & Cudden Point
The chimneys and engine houses of the Trewavas Mine
Cloud looked a little greyer for a while - just wasn't moving much at all
The blue sky was tantalisingly close
The footpath now going downhill towards the coastal path
We stood chatting to some people from Rosudgeon and Wooster & Tilly went exploring
Amazing to see that this old war-time lookout is still there, considering how mucuh erosion there is along this part of the coast
Looking towards Porthleven & beyond
Beautiful but dangerous waves here at Loe Bar
Had to look up the name of these again -Fascicularia (crimson Bromeliad) there are hundreds of them around the Lodge House
Loe Bar & Loe Pool
Still installing the new Green Gym
Here's one he did earlier
A little Autumn colour
Lots of these Sweet Chestnut trees
Lots of empty spikey husks, but not many of these Sweet Chestnuts left - the Squirrels must have them buried all over the place
Lots of leaves still to come down
Tilly trying out one of the Green Gym pieces
Wooster meeting a very small fan
My favourite view of the day
Walking back to the car after stopping off for a sausage roll & a coffee
(little cafe in the stables open Fri/Sat/Sun all through the Winter)
That was it, back to the car and home !
I like your favourite picture of the Penrose walk too. How lovely to have such good weather this late in the year, but I think I was there this time last year and it was pretty warm then.
ReplyDeleteThey've done so much to improve the Penrose walks - used to just be able to walk round Loe Pool - now there's walks all over the place and the little cafe in the stables at weekends in the Winter - and you don't have to pay to park the car !
