Still a very wild sea on a windy morning
Just a quick shot from Trebarvah as I went to check that Oamaru Barn ws ready for some visitors tomorrow
Rather odd split in the clouds this afternoon
I went into Penzance to wait for Scillonian III to arrive back from her last trip of the season. This large boat had just been lifted outIn the wet dock there was still some timbers from the old Jolly Roger boat that had sunk last week - and they had placed a boom around the big grey ugly monster (called a Super yacht in The Cornishman ! !)
More of the Jolly Roger
and the mast which was already broken on the landing craft Terramere
Looking over the top of Lighthouse Pier I spotted the Hake boat Ajax just arriving back - plenty on the market tomorrow
First sighting of Scillonian III appearing out of the gloom
I had realised by where the shore crew were that she would be coming straight in to Albert Pier - for shelter
Slow turn in a nasty swell
Bit of a roll
I was standing next to Ross Bridge to be able to see her arrive & turn
In she comes - nice and slow
and slowly starts to turn into the harbour
That's it for another year ! I assume they'll try to find room for her in the wet dock soon
Very odd light as we walked the dogs this afternoon - at least the rain had stopped
Well done Sue for capturing the last 2015 arrival of Scillonian on a murky November afternoon. Knew we could rely on you!
ReplyDeleteHaven't been able to get down as we have moved into our new home in Somerset. Hoping to fit in a quick visit before Christmas. Jane.
Wasn't a very nice day and I forgot to say that it was pouring with rain as she arrived back - fortunately it was on my back and I'd worn a waterproof jacket ! Had a lovely chat with Richard Pearce's Bryher Postie and his wife, who had come over the day before.
DeleteDo hope you enjoy your new life in Somerset - my sister had just moved from Bristol to Liskeard and is loving every minute of it ! Sue
