Saturday

Well storm Desmond arrived overnight and although we didn't get the really violent gusts that they've had up north the 50mph plus that we had were quite enough.  Andrew and his crew managed to get the Christmas Tree and lights up.
Sadly it was far too windy to attempt to get the cross up the side of the Church tower to mount onto the flag pole - hopefully it will be a bit less windy tomorrow
Two of the Ednovean ladies were sheltering lower down their field

More than half of the Organic Cauliflowers have been cut
Remember all those masses of big yellow flowers in the Summer well the dead Wild Charlock plants have been blown over the footpaths, making walking most unpleasant in places
Felt that Jim should get recognition for going up to Trebarvah yesterday and mowing the lawns at Oamaru Barn - it was getting quite long due to the mild wet weather

Really hard to convey just how angry the sea looked and how windy it was !
Looking right across the village and there were the guys still cutting the broccoli

Just walked the dogs up the hill this afternoon - conditions much the same
Never managed to catch one of the bigger splashes

  1. Looks like you are still getting rain and rough weather! The lawns look good Jim! Have the clotheslines been taken down?

    1. We've actually been really lucky not to have had the terrible torrential rain that the North of England have had - The Lake District especially is suffering terribly with flooding. We just keep getting the light rain - or Mizzle as we call it down here (a cross of mist & rain !) Just gets depressing as it's so dull & grey !
We do still have one rotary washing line at Oamaru - I was standing next to it - but Keri Keri or The Salty as it is now known did not get any of the garden at the rear when they were sold - just the walkway to the rear door. Both properties have a washer/dryer now which would help - which I know you would have been pleased about !
