Saturday

Pinkish start to the day

 Nice sunrise
But it didn't take long for cloud to appear
Wonderfully clear view over the bay to Mousehole
So good to see the fishing boats out on a calm sea - James on Bonnie Grace
Always think cloud like this is looks like a blanket overhead

We decided to take the dogs to Penrose for a change - hoping that the sun would stay around for at least a while
We just walked along the main footpath - to give us all a rest from the slippery mud
Really tall Magnolia in flower - almost as tall as the house
Loe Pool like a mirror today

Some rather bad shots of the birds - quite a few Pochards
A great Crested Grebe looking rather dull in Winter plumage
A couple of Goosanders
We reached Loe Bar with the sun just about to disappear behind the cloud
The sea was flat calm - Don't think we've  ever seen it so calm here before
Saw Bite Adventures go East before as I was taking my early photos - and there they were at anchor just off Loe Bar

Lots of people fishing down there

We then turned and made our way back
Wooster & Tilly watching a dog playing on The Bar
Really popular there today - walkers, bikers, kids on scooters and several horses
The opening hours of The Stable Cafe this Winter
It was a little brighter when we got home

A huge flock of birds flew over the house - having seen flocks like this over at The Hayle Estuary I recognised them straight away  - they were Lapwings - not a bird we get on the South Coast very often.
They swooped down over the fields - then turned and came back overhead.
Maybe the colder weather up North has brought them down South
Off they went
