Sunday

Sadly a rather grey morning, but since rain was expected later I decided to take the dogs for a longer walkies this morning. We walked up the steep slope past The Dubban and then along the field towards Trenow
Haven't been this way much this Winter as Tilly struggles to get over the stile when her feet were muddy last time.
and a few years ago I slipped on this steep slope when it was really really muddy and struggled to get back up again - like being on ice !
Wasn't quite as bad as that today - but the path has got very wide as people try to walk on grass rather than mud
We then carried on up the next hill - the path along the top has been showing signs of falling to the left and I spotted this nasty looking hole that has now appeared as well !
A marker fence to stop people walking too close to the edge - but I suspect that this path may have to be re-routed soon

Looking back to Basore Point (where I like to take photos of The Castle on The Mount - and The Greeb  Rocks
Hmm ! !  These two birders were standing right on the very edge of the worst bit of cliff in the area -  above Trenow Cove - bits slip down onto the beach all the time - I did mention to them that I didn't think that any rare bird was worth a fall down a cliff, and they laughed ! !
The massive renovation of Castle Gayer right down in Marazion by Scott and Kerry Davidson looked like it may be nearing completion in August - (it has been around 3 years ) But there is still scaffolding around the glass "conservatory"  as well as the old tower

Used to be a favourite spot for a photo
Amphibious vehicle St Michael heading back to The Mount
Quite a number of Little Egrets sheltering down on Trenow Cove

About as close as I get to The Castle
We then walked along the usual path to Maen-dhu Point
Lots of sand in the water - hopefully on the way in !

  1. Hi Sue
Perhaps the birdwatchers were trying to spot the Hudsonian Whimbrel which has been recorded at Trenow Cove recently. Hope they didn't accidently join it down on the beach below!!
    Happy New Year, Ann
