Well the storm lived up to all the weather warnings - wind gusting up to 59mph and torrential rain for many hours, causing flooding on many roads. Tilly had a quick trip into the garden, but Wooster refused until after lunch, when I assume he just couldn't "wait" any longer
The lounge faces South and out to sea, so we hadn't seen what was happening along the drive. Water was pouring off the fields above
and turned the drive into a canal
Only a few inches deep, but at the end of the drive the water was flowing down the slope towards the garage - fortunately there is a good long drain at the bottom of the slope. A lot of the water has now gone, but we still have a giant puddle
Very quick shot during a slight lull in the rain - but not the wind - opening the patio doors in that kind of wind isn't good !
Tilly had resigned herself to a day on her bed with her favourite toy
The wind dropped a little during the afternoon and I took this through the window
At last the rain stopped for a while, so off we went with the dogs - the sea was roaring and very noisy
Tiny bit of brightness
The swell was really smashing into Cudden Point
Looking to The Greeb from the beach ramp
Really wild sea views from The Cabin this afternoon
The wind taking hold of a splash and sending it really high up Cudden Point
Nowhere for the birds to sit on The Greeb rocks
Really was still very wild out on Maen-dhu Point
Sadly it started to rain again so we turned around and headed for home
Forecast for tomorrow is more rain, but a little less wind and for Monday - some more rain and even worse wind than today !
