Monday

An early start as Hetty the Yeti had to go to Helston for her service and MOT - just before sunrise there were these nice pink clouds
I went off to take the car and Jim took the dogs for a quick walkies up the hill
Lovely blue sky and sea and after Jim had collected me in Helston we set off for Falmouth
The new light fitting that we ordered had arrived, so whilst they found it we went up to the new Crows Nest Cafe at the top of Trago - just love the view - here is RFA Lyme Bay
The St Mawes Ferry with quite a number sitting on top
When we ordered the light fitting just before Christmas the gull scarer owl was turning its head and we were impressed. Sadly either the wind or gulls have knocked it's head off !
After collecting the light fitting we drove down to Pendennis Point  - the lovely little St Mawes Castle  over the water
St Anthony Light
Looking up the Carrick Roads to Trelissick
We then went round to Gyllingvase Beach - Wow ! we were sheltered from the chilly wind and it was like a Spring day  and really busy  with families and dogs and their owners enjoying the beautiful conditions
The cafe & takeaway were also really busy
The second castle - Pendennis Castle on our side of the water

Just a little paddle

Back to the car and off back to Helston
On a clear day I always admire this view as we drive down the hill with the sea, the Control Tower and runway of  RNAS Culdrose ahead of us.
Since my car was not going to be ready yet, we stopped off in lower Helston and walked round the Boating Lake
Love to look at these Tufted Ducks that Winter here
The ladies are being courted already !
We walked along the apth towards Loe Pool and I spotted my first Primrose of the year
Loe Pool
Out in the middle of the pool I could see quite a number of Shoveler Ducks
We walked to the Stable Cafe and had a cup of tea

The water level is very high - as you might expect from so much rain
Catkins
A bit of a sunset

  1. What a lovely day with views of my favourite places. Still have to try the Stable Cafe though, and also I never knew Trago had a rooftop cafe. What a great idea!

    1. The Trago cafe is fairly new - someone told us about it - they've moved the curtains and linens up to the top floor and added the cafe as well - lift to get up there - just love the view - but cake ofering leaves a lot to be desired - but we're spoiled here in Perran ! Thought of you when I took the photo of Trelissick !
