I set off fairly early to take some photos of Scillonian III as she set off on her first trip to Scilly in 2016. As you can see the wind had increased overnight and it was a bit splashy along the Promenade
and along the back of Lighthouse pier
Scillonian III was all finished loading and just awaiting one last passenger
Captain Pete Crawford supervising
Let go Aft
Let go forward
Off she went
Don't know how long they'll stay out on deck - it was bitterly cold in the strong Easterly wind
Took this as I reached Battery Rocks,
I needed to go to Newlyn, so just had to take some photos
Relief RNLI Lifeboat Osier here in Newlyn whilst Ivan Ellen is away undergoing a 3 month "service"
Thought I was going to see Alan on Ajax leaving through the gaps, but he came back alongside - by the time I got home he was heading towards Lands End
By the time I got home the clouds were parting, there was some blue sky and it felt quite a bit warmer
Now that the pool is full, I managed to slide the cover on and attach it to the reel - no sign of any spiders - awaiting the electrician !
Just love these
Sun really tricky as we walked the dogs this evening
Little Dunnock singing away in the hedge
Sunset amongst the cables !
Great photos of Scillonian 111 leaving on the first trip for the season. Looks like it might have been a bit rough out in the open sea!
ReplyDeleteYes, judging by her speed it was a bit choppy ! To be expected at this time of year I suppose. Sue

ReplyDeleteI would love to wander around Newlyn for longer, but always seem to be just passing through ! Sue
