Sad sight of one of the Crowlets that had fallen from the nest overnight - looking fine and asking for food, but parents seem to be ignoring it. Jim moved it off the path and onto a sheltered rock - sadly I expect it will be dead by morning
I went up to Oamaru and the mist was clearing and it was really warm
Jim took the dogs over the hill to Trenow - here they are going over the first stile - very unusual for Tilly to be first

I was surprised to see that Mali Rose had gone into Dry Dock yesterday
Not much room around the sides - lots of work to be done before she's ready to start heading out to Scilly
The super silk flags on the side of Jubilee Pool which re-opened today
Several millions have been spent after the terrible storms that wrecked it - looking superb this morning
It was free entry today for people to be able to have a good look

When I got back to the harbour car park Scillonian III was preparing for her second trip of the day to Scilly - possibly carrying some of the people who had not managed to fly due to the weather conditions

She's going to make an extra trip over to Scilly tomorrow to take all the people who sadly didn't get away today

Aquilegia Vulgaris common name Granny's Bonnet. Tamarisk looking beautiful, any signs of any orchids yet Sue??? Luckily we haven't had the fog, very hot here today. No doubt your counting down to your holiday now, have a great time, will look forward to some photo's.

ReplyDeleteJust realised that you must have missed the post on Tuesday 10th May - you can either scroll backwards clicking on Older Posts until you get there - or type Orchids into the search box - right above where it says Around. You will then get all the posts where I typed orchid - shouldn't be too far down. Masses of Early Purple Orchids on a wall at Trevean. The Tamarisk is a much more recent planting and those that have survived are beautiful, but sadly many of them died in the storms of 2012/3 as they couldn't take the wind. We have had a lovely day today -looked at the St Ives webcams and it was really foggy. Amazing how different it can be coast to coast. Sue
