Wednesday - a trip "up country" to Liskeard

Up earlier than usual, I was hoping for a sunrise photo, but sadly far too much cloud again
Wooster just peeking over the wall today
Off we went up the A30 then down the hell road known as the A38 - we stopped off at the huge Trago Mills - sadly we didn't manage to get most of the things on our list
But the setting is beautiful - the River Fowey running all along the site

We arrived at sister Pat & her husband Howard's lovely home and went to "inspect" the garden. When we first saw it, it was just a rather soggy lawn and a big shed.
 It's looking really wonderful
and we were very envious of some of her plants
We set off for a walk - past this huge Beech tree which has been attacked by an awful fungus

It's a protected tree, but it's looking like it will have to come down as there are other Beech trees close by
We drove back via Cardinham Woods and stopped off for a Brownie and a cup of tea
before taking Wooster and Tilly for a stroll up the woodland path
The sun was trying to peek through the trees
Yet more water, but neither of the dogs would drink
Never seen the area in the Winter when the water must race down here

  2. At last you were able to visit your Sister, so pleased for you, her garden is looking beautiful, no reason why you shouldn't be able to grow Verbena bonairiensis in your garden . Love the tea cottage at Cardinham must go again soon now that it is much quieter up there. Hoping to pop down
your way today or tomorrow, weather looking good for a couple of days, must make the most of it. Thanks once again for the beautiful photo's.
