Wednesday

After a night of torrential rain and noisy thunder and  massive flashes of lightning, it was all calm this morning. Sadly there had been quite a lot of flash floods and damage all over Cornwall during the storm
Wooster probably wondering where all that noise came from

Life's great !
We decided to make the most of the fine day and drove over to the upper car park at NT Penrose
Still love the sound of a Sea King
Lovely view along The Lizard
Just a few puddles after all the rain - we expected more !
Unusual sight of a Skybus on approach to RNAS Culdlrose
Turned out it was landing/takeoff  training ?
Went straight back up again - went round and did it again

First of the Hawks we saw
Looking right over Trewavas Head to Prussia Cove and the top of The Castle on The Mount
Wooster and Tilly enjoying the cuddles
Looking towards Porthleven
Maize on either side
Could hear a voice and spotted this guy working on the chimney of Tye House
Really large fungi

Walking along the coastal path towards Loe Bar

Never like to see people paddling here on Loe Bar
The Lodge House at Penrose
Loe Bar with Loe Pool to the left

Water really racing down the culvert to the sea after all the rain last night
Tilly much happier in the dappled shade of the trees
The Dalmatian Pelican had to move as the water level was much higher so its sand bank was under water
Once again it was in bright sunlight - so no decent shots

Tight turns from the Hawks over our heads
The lovely green fields of the Penrose Estate
We stopped off for a tea and ginger cake
We had heard the noise of a chain saw and there he was
The guys from Tree Wise who have been to deal with our trees, were  taking some of the branches off this old tree
Evidently the trunk was not in a good way
Loved this little bobbin

 Round came the Hawk again
Sorry there are so many, but I really love to see them here
Sunset was almost right over the Church Tower

End of a super day
Tonights moon

  1. What a beautiful day you have all shared, we enjoyed it to, Thank you. Still haven't done that walk, not sure that we will now, but will give it a go sometime hopefully. Enjoy the sunshine while you can, not happy that we are going into Winter, & darker evenings.

    1. Really hate the evenings drawing in - just taken the sunset and it's the Winter side of the Church Tower Grrr ! Haven't really got out as much as we'd like - old age creeping on and there has still been so many visitors around. Sue

    1. We really haven't had the hot weather at all - was pleasant yesterday and much better for Tilly, but it would have been good to have a little hot spell before Winter sets in. The thunder storms were really quite something - we don't get them much down here - fortunately Perran didn't flood, but there were some nasty flash floods as well as lightning strikes. Grey skies to the East this evening - as it has been all day - but sunset out to the West - strange again ! Hope you cool down and get some rain soon ! Sue
