I was up early to meet the plumber up at Oamaru, so Jim was again in charge of the dogs on a day when the first of the expected storms arrived - for some reason the Met Office decided not to give it a name - I could think of a few
Huge waves rolling in towards the cliffs
Walking down the track towards the car park
Lots of white water
A few from me - huge waves rolling past The Mount
Hardly any of The Greeb showing
My favourite tractor and my favourite view
One from Jim later in the afternoon - I was up at Oamaru until after 8pm but the amazing carpet fitters battled on in terrible conditions - having to carry heavy rolls of carpet in 60-70mph gusts of wind is not easy. Looks super
Great pictures! The ocean is such a force. So much power and potential for destruction during a storm. So much peace and joy on a calm, sunny day. I grew up near the ocean. Such an amazing force of nature.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful to watch the ocean in all its moods
DeleteWonderful scenes. Love to see the huge waves rolling in. Great shots of the Mount. Is that a small Albatross or a large seagull in one pic.?
ReplyDeleteYou must have had to stand firm in the strong wind!
Look forward to seeing Oamaru when finished.
Betty
Bird was just a seagull no Albatrosses here, it was difficult to stand or walk, the carpet guys were wonderful as it was terrible to be having to carry all the rolls of carpet & underlay into the barn in that wind and rain. Didn't finish until 8pm real stars ! Sue
