We decided that after a busy week we deserved a day off and drove to The National Trust Penrose - parking up at the top car park & heading off towards Porthleven
There are those who would think that cattle lying down was a bad sign - but it wasn't the sun shone all day
Rather hazy view looking along The Lizard Coast
The amazing chimneys and engines houses of the Trewavas Mine
Porthleven
Wooster checking which way to go
The lovely junk-sailed Santiana sailing along the eastern side of Cudden Point
Wonderful cliff edge Thrift
There's been another fall since we were there last
The path is getting rather narrow there now
Hottentot fig
Lovely Peacock Butterfly
Looking down towards Loe Pool
Loe Bar
Our first proper Bluebells
Looking lovely over the other side
Down through the woods
and onwards towards The Stables
We stopped off at the cafe - I hadn't eaten since 8am breakfast, but sadly although I fancied a sausage roll they couldn't heat it up as they no longer have a microwave - so I had to settle for coffee & a brownie - disappointing - might have to take sandwiches next time
Wonderful Rhododendron
Met these two - Monty and Lola
Really lovely little puppy Labrador
Never seen two cows fighting before - really were having a go
Off we went back towards the car and home
I went up to mow the lawn at Oamaru and get the top coat on the bench seat & Jim brought the dogs up - not that they needed a walk - my Vivofit was showing over 16,000 steps so goodness knows how many Wooster had done
What a lovely day you had! Bluebells already ! you are so advanced with faun and flora ! frosty here this morning the lawns are white and my car looks like a little 'frostmobile' !lovely views at Porthleven...that path looks dodgy ! 'keep stepping' thank you Sue.macca.
ReplyDeleteIt's been cool first thing here, but still no proper frost which is helping all the Spring plants. Sun shining again this morning, but looking out to sea it's quite hazy. Visitors arriving at Oamaru this afternoon, so hope the fine weather hold. Sue
