Saturday - a visit to the Porthleven Food & Drink Festival

A visitor this morning while we were getting ready to leave - for some reason neither of us were feeling very good this morning, but Jim had ordered some Pies from Wessex Pantry, so we had to go today
We parked up at the top of Porthleven near the Penrose footpath and walked a short circuit to give the dogs a run
Bulk Carrier Navios Buena Ventura that arrived in the bay  overnight
Lovely seeing Bluebells growing in the fields
Jim is really proud of his photo of a Skylark - there were lots around as well a a large number of Swallows/Martins zooming around

Heading into Porthleven
Looking really pretty alongside the road
Ah ! happy memories of several holidays spent in this little cottage
The Harbour looking very busy already
We walked around and found the Chefs Theatre where some students from Cornwall College were assisting Guy Owen
Dangerous job of shucking some Oysters
We attempted to walk around, but it was really busy - just as well that Wooster & Tilly are so good - we then had a quick lunch in a cafe that allows dogs then made our way back
Inside the Chef's Theatre
Nik Boyle and the guys from The Victoria Inn, Perranuthnoe - looks like someone has a plan ! !

Photos of the screen above Nik demonstrating how to fillet a huge Brill - works the same on smaller flat fish - first find the back bone
Then uo near the head
off it comes -
Nik making it look easy !

Sorry we both missed the finished dish  which is on the starters Menu
We collected Jim's Pies and feeling even worse as we had all got really cold in the tent, we set off in the now rather chilly breeze heading back to the car
When we stayed here in Porthleven Nick loved looking out of his little bedroom window to see Tater Du & Wolf Rock Lighthouses
Felt like a steep climb today
Jim dropped me off at Trebarvah and I popped in to greet our visitors - there were several Swallows zooming around
 Take-off
So lovely to hear their happy noises
Still rather cold and grey, but about and hour after we got home the sky cleared and out came the sun
We saw this yacht Walrus at anchor off Porthleven - passing by well heeled over and tonight at anchor off The Mount

    1. We're fine today - weird we both had an Off-day on the same day. Porthleven was a bit too busy for us, but Jim got his pies - had half of one this evening. Sue
