Happy 14th Birthday to Tilly
Both Penlee Lifeboats were called out to a sad case of a missing lady near Porthleven - unfortunately her body was found at the bottom of the cliffs. Here The RNLI Penlee Lifeboat Ivan Ellen is returning to Newlyn
As bit splashy in the wind

The inshore lifeboat Mollie & Ivor Dent on its way back

You would never usually see these little fir cones until they were much bigger, but since the huge branch is almost on the ground there they were
Looking wonderful up at Trebarvah as I went up to mow the lawn
Meanwhile Jim walked the dogs
Tilly wearing her red bandanna to celebrate her birthday

Very unusual to see a kite surfer here in Perranuthnoe

Mid-day at Trebarvah
Turquoise sea and some white water - beautiful
The line of darker cloud was still moving roughly South to North but also getting a little closer
Still looking stunning - managed to mow the lawn, although the front lawn was tricky as it was still rather wet from yesterday's rain
Unfortunately no lovely afternoon walkies for the birthday girl and her pal - Jim just took them round the spoil heap as it had started to rain again - I carried on up to Oamaru as I'd left my camera up there

Rain had almost stopped by the time I was walking down the hill - got to the garden gate and Jim had locked it - habit !  So I had to walk around to the lane and knock on the front door !
Bought Tilly a celebration drink
But she says she is much too tired after reading all her birthday messages - she'll save it 'till later

  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TILLY. Looks like she has had a lovely day. Looking back on your posts, I noticed that my message a few days again didn't for some reason stay on your messages. Thank you so much for all the photo's of the beautiful orchids, I saw a few today in the hedgerows going down to Mevagissey, but nothing like as many in previous years. Must be something to do with the drier winter perhaps. Thank you once again.

    1. Sorry about your messages - will take a look at what's happened. We thought that the dry Spring might have affected the Orchids - pity. Tilly had a good day with her photo on facebook getting 97 Happy Birthdays -she's got such a wise old face now, but fortunately she's still quite lively and hopefully will manage Scilly OK - although we will probably struggle he he ! 1. Tilly had a good day - but sadly not much of an afternoon walkies - made up for it in the sunshine this morning - cloud approaching so might not last. The tree branch is being dealt with on Tuesday - then we'll see how much of our lovely old Hydrangea is left standing ! Sue
