Not a bad start to the day - blue sky and sunshine with a little mist - too hot for a dog walk, so they went into the garden to help Jim mow the lawn. I went into the extremely hot pool-house to try to cool the water down - it had got to 98f while we were away. So cold water in and hot water pumped out for a while.
Suddenly I looked up and fog had suddenly appeared
Noticed that the top field was being cut - thank goodness !
Not sure which Crow this is and why it was so wet - doesn't usually get like this when he stands on his jacuzzi
I did wonder if it was one of the chicks as they're close to fledging
Up the hill and found that it hadn't been cut close enough to the path - so walk on the field it will have to be
The worst of the fog had lifted and the sun was trying to appear
Still plenty of happy noises from the beach
Down near the car park - Wooster was very tempted
Only one chick visible on the roof of No 3 Withey Cottages
Welcome back to you all. That must have been one of your best holidays in Scilly weather wise??? We didn't have the fog this afternoon, but thankfully it is a little cooler this evening, could do with some rain to fill the water butts and give the garden plants and flowers a boost. Was there no dog show this year on the Islands for Wooster and Tilly to enter? Much appreciated your Scilly photo's, thank you.
ReplyDeleteYes the weather was wonderful and everywhere looked stunning, but poor Tilly could have done with less heat. The dog show was supposed to be the Saturday before we went (only 7 days this year) but they postponed it due to the weather. No idea when it is or was - publicity isn't good over there any more - except if your doing a Swim/run event ! We've booked to miss it next year as it makes letting the dogs off a bit tricky and affected the boating etc. We've noticed that the coast looks dry and parched again on our return, but there might be some rain in the forecast.
