Thursday

Little skittering of snow this morning after a very cold night
Been lots of Lapwings around - looking for shelter from the cold NE wind
Cassie and Bonnie and the flock of Lapwings
Our Echium forest is not looking good
Off went the big guy and I - up the hill to check on Oamaru and Hetty the Yeti

Wooster still enjoying the feel of the snow
A lot of ear action again
I then walked down the track towards the car park
Lovely big but empty beach and I didn't see a soul on the whole walk. I managed to stay on my feet with only one little slither
Sadly The Cabin and Victoria were closed again due to the weather
Cudden Point still looking very special
Later one of two surfers arrived
The the snow returned
Fortunately it looks like we've escaped the worst of this storm - although it is still gusting between 50 and 60mph - tomorrow we might get rain on top of the freezing ground which will be terrible to walk or drive on
