Jim's Friday walkies along the Tresillian River from St Clement in both directions

Starting out from St Clement only 2 miles outside the City of Truro walking up-river towards Tresillian
Very pretty but no idea
Low tide
The Causeway between the pond to the left and the tidal river to the right

Waiting for the tide to rise

Ponticums - most have been ripped out as as invasive non-native plant

Super shots of a Little Egret

Shelducks
Always loved this wall covered with  Mexican Fleabane
Back past the car and looking back to St Clements as they walked down-river towards Malpas
Nice pair of Shelducks sweeping the mud side to side with their beaks - described as "Goose-like ducks"
This nice little shingle beach always brings back memories tinged with sadness as Daisy Pointer loved this spot when we first bought our Tresillian House - sadly she died suddenly and never came to actually live in Cornwall
It was also this spot that made us realise that Jim was ill when he was struggling to keep up with Nick and I - fortunately once the Docs had worked out what was wrong it was easily solved
Seat with a view but not much room to put your feet
A stile for humans and a special lift up for the dogs - not easy if one is on the lead
Wooster issuing orders
Maisie now knowing what to do !
Nice views as he climbed up above the river

Looking towards Malpas wher the Tresillian River joins the Truro River
Downhill again - this walk is not for the feint hearted
Time for refreshments
Turning around and up the hill - Wooster having raced up to the top is on his way back down to Jim & Maisie

Love this old gate
Looking down at St Clement

Time for him to go back on his lead
Super shot
In the centre of St Clement - we did look at one of the thatched ones - listed and rather small with the front facing South - and a very damp rear garden
Wisteria tree
Such a pity that The Old Vicarage is only a Guest House - just loved the tea room
Back to the car with the tide now filling up the Creek

  1. One of the loveliest walks, that flower looks like a clematis, but don't recognise the leaves unless they are from another plant. Hope your eye is feeling comfortable today Sue, thinking of you.
Thanks to Mr.M for the beautiful photo's. Have been hoping that when and if The Vicarage finally gets sold that it might change back to a tea room as well, fingers crossed.

    1. Jim wasn't sure about the leaves going with the plant - pretty though ! We would love the Old Vicarage tea garden to re-open but it's a lot of money to pay. Jim really enjoyed it as he always loved the walks there as it's so green. Eye is fine - no pain at all, just tricky knowing what glasses to wear - have taken a lens out of a normal pair which is fine for walking but not quite right for the photos etc. Will try to get an eye test and some cheap glasses for reading/computer as I don't get the right one done until July. Sue
