Just realised that you arrive in Perranuthnoe the day before we leave for Scilly - we're gone for 10 days so might see you when we return. The "Mali Rose" operated in Norway, transporting fish feed, so quite clear that there is need of alteration in the Penzance dockyard. Enough info.
See you soon.
GerdAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3444350273723015604.post-68656584919185248532016-05-18T09:11:08.849+01:002016-05-18T09:11:08.849+01:00Dear Sue,

Under one of the pictures showing the new ship "Mali Rose" for the Scillies you write:"No idea what this part is for!" It reminded me at first glance of a concrete pump, and it is a pump, but not for concrete. It's for Salmon Feed. On the funnel of the machine you see the picture of a Salmon. The old homeport of "Mali Rose" is Bronnoysund in Norway, and nearby in the Fjords are several Salmon Farms.
Hurtigruten stops at Bronnoysund and one of their excursions go to a Salmon Farm.
So, I think that's the explanation.
See you soon, we are back to lovely Perranuthnoe at teh beginning of June.
GerdAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
