We were really pleased to see that the fog had cleared overnight and the sun was trying to shine over towards Newlyn. As we walked along the seafront towards Newlyn, Scillonian III was just going past Mousehole on her way to the Isles of Scilly.

As well as all the interest on the water there were many super stalls selling craftwork, wonderful food and this plant stall with lots of Proteas and other fairly tender plants - after last winter's frosts I decided to resist !
One of my favourites and frequently out in Mounts Bay this lovely Classic boat Snowdrop leaving the Harbour
The Fisheries Protection vessel, sadly as with last year the queue was too long to take a look around - must try again next year !
The ILB a very fast RIB and running neck and neck with the All Weather Boat on rescues this year when I last saw the list.
We managed to get a quick visit to the Lifeboat as they were about to prepare for their display. This is the Beth Sell, which has all the latest equipment on board and is here substituting for the Ivan Ellen, whilst it is being upgraded to the same standard.
The lifeboat came back down the harbour to show the manoeuvrability of the vessel (think he's been watching too much Top Gear)
As many of the visiitors do not know that dogs are not allowed on the Quay, the local Brownies provide a much needed "dog sitting " service. We on the other hand, had to head home as we don't like to leave Charlie & Tilly for more than 4 hours.
As we had parked the car near the Boating Lake, I took a look what was zooming around. I think everybody was at the Fish Festival as there was only this one, but a nice one !
The mist cleared a little to show the cruise ship Le Diamant anchored off Mousehole/Newlyn, which arrived this morning - such a pity the weather is so murky and damp as Mounts Bay certainly doesn't look it's best. I gather the ship is mainly used by French tourists. For more photographs of her and her launches see the link to West Cornwall Photos on the right.
A couple of shots of this lovely old vessel the Fowey registered Ibis which came past on her way into Penzance or Newlyn. May be here for the Newlyn Fish Festival on Monday.
Whilst most of the dinghys managed to get through the waves fairly easily, no 506 had a bit of a struggle against a slightly bigger set of waves !
Stopped off at Marazion Marsh this morning, nice to see that the pair of Swans managed to raise three cygnets to a good size. No sign of the Spotted Crake that's been around for several days, probably hiding from the strong wind in the rushes.
Looking across to Lighthouse Pier, in Penzance on a very windy day with lots of white horses. Scillonian III took nearly 1hr longer to get to St Mary's this morning, with her speed reduced to 7 knots at times, so it must have been very lively out there !
