Tuesday

Still very windy this morning after another very windy night, but the sun was shining which was a real bonus. I was busy giving the house a Spring clean as we have visitors coming on Thursday, so Jim walked the dogs again today
Some lovely shadows from the clouds on the water

Afternoon walkies

I was still busy with the Spring Cleaning, so Jim took the dogs down towards the beach and took some photos of the surfers
Lovely colours in the water with the light shining through

 Very quiet down there
 Trebarvah Cove
They then walked a little further East along the coastal footpath
and then came back up the horrible muddy path that leads up to Trebarvah
The lovely view from the glade near the top of the path
The sun already past the churchand still a way to go
 Nice big moon
Took a couple of shots through the kitchen window
The sunset - almost gone from our view now

Overnight rescue by the crew of Sea King from RNAS Culdrose

The UK coastguard in Falmouth and the RNAS Culdrose Sea King rescue helicopter were scrambled to assist the chemical tanker Bochem Oslo near Lands' End at 10pm yesterday
Three men have been taken to hospital after being splashed by a highly corrosive chemical on-board a ship.
The crew, who were travelling to Hamburg in Germany, raised a distress call when three men – all of whom are of Indian decent and in their mid 20s – came in to contact with concentrated nitric acid
A spokesman for the UK coastguard in Falmouth said: "We sought medical advice from the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth and they advised an immediate evacuation
Due to gale-force winds, the helicopter was unable to rescue the men at sea, instead the tanker was forced to take shelter in Mounts Bay while the crew of the Sea King lifted them off-boardThe pilot of a Royal Navy helicopter that rescued three men from a tanker off Cornwall says the swell was moving the vessel around 40 foot at one stage. Commander Scott Armstrong from 771 squadron at RNAS Culdrose says conditions were so rough initially that the winchman wasn't able to land on board the Bochem Oslo. In total the rescue lasted six hours, ending at 0400 this morning, and the three men were taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital. Their condition is unknown but they are described as 'walking wounded.'

Monday

I was surprised to wake up to the sun this morning, but when I saw these clouds I guessed it wasn't going to be around all day
Still, it was a lovely sky - at least for a little while

Morning Walkies

Scillonian III reversing out from Lighthouse Pier this morning

Rather more cloud that first thing and thicker stuff out to the West
SCIII passing Mousehole
One from me on the balcony as she made her way out of Mount's Bay - on what must have been a bouncy trip and tomorrows (Tuesday) trip has been cancelled due to the expected weather conditions
Looking out of the open door today !
A misty and drizzly afternoon and during the evening the wind has got much worse - again !

Sunday

Really wild morning - the biggest gust was a 61mph
The sea was looking very angry as I walked the dogs up the hill and tried to stand steady to take a couple of photos
I saw several much bigger splashes, but never when I had the camera on them !

Afternoon walkies

Afternoon walkies and sadly a couple of our Echiums down on the Churchway Footpath have been blown over
They were just about to send up the big flower spike - don't know whether they will survive
Such a pity to have lasted through the storms of 2014 only to fall over in a lesser wind today - although the Westerly direction must have been a factor
The wind had dropped a little when I took the dogs out this afternoon
Rather a grey looking Mount's Bay

Saturday

We started off with some heavy rain this morning, but it passed fairly quickly, so Jim took the dogs up the hill
 Very misty across the bay

The overnight wind and rain had brought some waves in

I called in at Marazion Junction on my way back from Sainsbury's
You see a mixture of styles looking at the castle from here
I then went up to Trebarvah to clean the windows at Oamaru before the visitors arrived - the garden walls of the barns are looking really lovely now
Just a splash of sunshine as we walked the dogs up towards Ednovean
The bunny family were out to tea

Dramatic lighting as we set off down the hill towards home

Friday

Not a day to remember - dull and wet with occasional fog & mist - and BT came and didn't imprpove my Broadband - although the good news is that we're getting a new cable into the village courtesy of BT Openreach which should help all of us with problems as they will actually have spare lines - instead of just swapping the good lines around as people complain !
No walkies for the dogs until this afternoon when the rain had lessened to a drizzle
