Scillonian III on a BIG sea

Just shows you should never assume - never thought she'd go out today - it really is wild - she was late leaving and we missed her passing Mousehole - just spotted the white out on the deep blue sea, so fired off some shots - it gives you an idea of what it is like out there.
Since taking these photos we've been watching through the 'scope and watching her climb up some of the waves has been quite unbelievable.

  2. Such a pity we didn't see her earlier, but it's not often I'm moved to shout out when watching through the 'scope, but some of the angles as she climbed over a wave were the worst we've seen. Judging by her speed I think it was the worst bit of the trip and yes they must have had a stunning view from the CoastWatch station - especially with those massive binocs they've got !

  3. Super photos Sue, made me say 'wow' out loud to myself when i saw the pics! As Phill from SWC has said before, its what she was built to do but the old girl does makes you worry with the some of the big pitching and scending she gets upto. A stomach churning trip of the highest order!
