Scillonian III coming down Mount's Bay this evening into the gloom. She was rather late - I assume carrying those who were unable to fly back to the mainland due to the fog, which had arrived on Scilly much earlier.
She then loaded up again with the people who had not been able to fly out to the islands and is just rounding St Mary's now (10.30pm) Think this might be the first time she's had to do an extra trip this season !

  1. I remember not getting out to Tresco until after midnight one year! And a day late! Its always quite a trek when the helicopter is not flying!

  2. Sure is, we once had a group of campers staying on St Agnes, who'd been in the bar all the way over & then had to try to put their tents up at 1am & caused havoc. Word had it that someone got up early & loosened all their guy ropes so the tents dropped on them ! Must be a real pain for all the transport & off Island boats. Still at least they got there - might be foggy again tomorrow ! Sue
