As we arrived in St Ives, the sun came out and the summer flowers were looking beautiful. Sadly as we had suspected, unkind weather conditions and tide timings meant that the Penzance boats had not made the trip round Lands End and the "Boats in the Bay" celebration of traditional Cornish boats was rather muted with just the St Ives Jumbos and the Lugger Dolly Pentreath together with a guest appearance of the very new Holly Mae. Still it was a very enjoyable day, as St Ives is a lovely town to visit after the huge crowds have left.
PERRANUTHNOE is a small village on the South Coast of Cornwall, just East of Marazion, there is a Car Park and sloping access to a safe sandy beach and the beachside Cabin Cafe. It has The Victoria Inn a superb multi award winning pub, which serves super food both lunchtimes & evenings, - a Church dating back as far as 1160. The Lynfield Centre which houses The Cowhouse Gallery, The Peppercorn Cafe and a hairdressers.

A day in St Ives

Thanks for the lovely St Ives photos Sue. One of my sons lives there and he loves the beaches, the Island and all the art that goes on. Hope to come down myself in October. Glad you had a beautiful day. It was pretty good here too, especially after the rains and floods of yesterday! Ann
