I set off in my wellies along this ruined footpath as it leads to the best bird watching spot. At first I seemed to be reasonably firm mud, then a little further along I started to sink and I lost my nerve when I was in danger of a) sinking further than the height of my wellies and b) getting stuck and having to either call for help or try to pull my feet out of the wellies. None of these choices appealed so I backtracked, rather fed up at the way the RSPB are treating this super birdwatching spot.
