My first Bittern of the Autumn

I had hoped to get a sighting of one of the Bitterns down at The Marsh, but I couldn't believe it when this one flew in right in front of us and wandered onto one of the little Islands. Quite amazing. One of the five of us present even had time to cross the road to get his bigger lens and tripod, set it up and carry on taking photos.

  3. Great shot Sue. I don't think we have any bitterns in this area. It is good that they are doing so well on Marazion Marsh. Ann x

  4. Hi Ann, it's the second winter they have appeared - sadly they did not stay for the summer. Just noticed that 3 have been spotted in the last couple of days - last winter there were 5. Really super to see one so relatively close to. Sue
