A sad day for Newlyn as the Gill Netter the Ben My Chree sinks off  Gwennap Head after an eventful 24 hours. She started to take on water the previous night and a SAR helicopter took the crew off. She then continued to stay afloat, unfortunately in the separation lane off Lands End - the Fisheries Protection vessel the St Piran was eventually tasked to try to get a tow on board, which they managed. But unfortunately the weather and sea state was not kind to them and she eventually sank.
