It's Osprey watching time !

My favourite time of year is when the Ospreys return from their warm winter homes - mainly in The Gambia and surrounding coastal areas.
This is from the webcam at Lock Garten where EJ is sitting on two eggs in truly terrible conditions - last night she was covered in snow as well as the nest.
Here Odin the male is arriving to take over the egg sitting - even though he's suspicious that the first one arrived too quickly for it to be his - probably the male that she had a short dalliance with when she first returned to Scotland - fortunately he didn't kick it out of the nest like his predecessor Henry did - but he didn't want to sit on it - but is now quite happy to take over !
Do hope that the weather warms up !
Late this afternoon over at the Loch of the Lowes nest the very elderly "lady" has laid an egg - but last years did not hatch, hope it won't be the same this year - it was very sad to see her sitting on the eggs for many weeks !
