I've spent most of the day ironing and constantly being distracted by the Crow family. We've noticed that the female checks them over for fleas in the early evening. During the violent storm the youngsters were still flying about and their bad landings or failed landings really kept us amused.
Sadly the news from one of the Osprey nests I've been watching online in Dyfi, Mid Wales has had torrential rain all day and the still small chicks have not been fed since 07.30am and Nora the female has not eaten all day, just sitting on the nest. The Male has gone to try to get fish, but obviously failed and the weather system is continuing right across them, so no respite at all.
