A bit windy for June !

Scillonian III safely tied up to Albert Pier this morning due to the weather forecast. She may well not got tomorrow either as the gale force winds will still be with us ! Todays forecast has unfortunately been  spot on - gusts up to 62mph have been registered at Lands End Weather - phew !
Saw this Navy vessel out in Mount's Bay yesterday - and here it is in the Wet Dock, in Penzance. Now realise it is the current HMS Penzance M106 a Sandown class minehunter.  A memorial plaque dedicated to HMS Penzance sailors killed at sea during the Second World War is set to be unveiled in Penlee Park on Sunday June 10th. The fourth HMS Penzance was awarded the Freedom of the Town in 2000 and now a lasting legacy to the wartime fallen will be displayed at Penlee Park.
