Up at Trebarvah they've made a start on the new home to be built on the site of the old Mundic bungalow - I was intrigued by what I saw and took some photos to help identify what this material is
Looking closely at these corner panels I thought they looked like Polystyrene so checked on "polystyrene build systems" and yes that's what it is !
It is built to a certain height then concrete in poured into the gap - I've yet to find out what then goes on the outside or inside - but there's a lot of them around both in UK and elswhere in the world - superb insulation I gather !
Hi Sue and Jim. Only just stumbled across you're blog. We've chatted several times as you have passed.
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are from Canada, (they literally arrived in a shipping container!) the manufacturer is a company called Nudura, and they are one of the best systems around.
I started a sort of blog thing on Facebook, and we have loads of pictures of the build there. Try searching Wheal Jenny eCo Construction, and it should link to the page. Im on site all this week, so maybe will see you as you pass.
All the best Martin
