Hello Sue,
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a juvenille starling. We have a few in the garden just now.
Our swallows have just built a second nest at work and our tree has blossom on it. Perhaps we may have a summer this year!
Susan
Hi Susan, Fancy building a second nest - they'll be here until Christmas ! I know one of then Osprey nests have chicks that have only just fledged when most of the others are on their way South - or nearly are !
DeleteWe saw a huge number of the Starlings today and I got a proper look - never noticed the half brown look before - perhaps we don't usually bother with Starlings ! Sue
Sue,
DeleteOn a re-enforced rsj, where the compactor swings when they collect it of all places! All 5 fledged from the first nest and were quite happy to sit when we went out at night! Yes, I've only noticed the half starling look this year as usually they are brownish and then get their adult colours fully. In saying that there's not been as many as the past few years in the garden. Just lots of sparrows and dunnocks
