I stopped to take this as we walked down the hill towards home - but looking out towards Lamorna we could see rain heading our way, so we had to speed up a bit.

    1. Yes Sue, the walk was really a surprise w didn't expect so many lovely views. Didn't go back to the field where the goodies were as huge rainclouds were suddenly heading our way and of course we had to walk home - we only caught the edge of the shower and had to remove our waterproofs as we got to warm. 3. You must have had a great time at the Fayre! These parades etc. intrigue me. Have you seen the Furry Dance at Helston on Flora day or the "Obby Oss" at Padstow? At our Cornish Association's Christmas party they usually have a Miracle Play and the Obby Oss and chaser often put in an appearance. All part of Cornwall's rich history.
Tilly looks like a winner standing there wearing her award with such poise.
Beautiful views over the fields both on the way and back. Interesting to see the conversion of the old Mine Engine House. There must have been a lot of smoke around when all of the mines were operating in days past!
Thanks for all of these lovely photos.
Great to see GB winning many Gold medals! Australia are falling far short of their usual number, but have won quite a few silver and bronze.
Hope you have a good week with sunny and warm weather:)

    1. We also love the traditions and processions - sadly we've never made it to Flora Day - it's almost too big they have thousands there to watch and Padstow is a bit far - although we always see reports on the festivities on the local BBC program. The Goldsithney area is within the Mining Heritage Area and has many chimneys, old engine houses and worst of all shafts - many of which were "filled" at some time - then suddenly open up again - care when out walking is needed.
